Jeremy

Hello everybody! For those of you who haven't visited this web site before, it went on-line way back in June 2007 and has only just been updated. At the time I said:

"At long last, my web site's up and running. I'm way behind, but better late than never. I must explain that it's still under construction. My husband Mo has been building it, but he keeps having to break off to cook dinner and answer the phone. However, he assures me that in another ten to fifteen years, bits will be animated and there will be all kinds of interactive things you can do. So come back again, won't you?"

Well, I'm feeling very guilty because we have only just updated the site but still haven't managed to include any of the fancy animation or interactive things - sorry. But we have included recent information and made a few improvements.

If you have visited us before "What's New" is listed below. If you haven't had a look before, and you've got the time, why don't you click on the Menus above and take a quick look at the the rest of the site now?

Lots of love to you all – and I hope you're reading some really great books!

So, what's new ?
MY BLOG

. ............... - It's my new monthly blog. So why not give it a look now.

PONGWIFFY INFO HERE! - click on the book title for more details
The six books in this series (previously published by Puffin) are probably my best known and most successful books, but over the years have dropped out of print. The great news is, to celebrate Pongwiffy's 21st birthday, my lovely new publisher (Bloomsbury) is reprinting all six titles. The books have been given a completely new look and I have written a brand new Pongwiffy book - Pongwiffy. Back On Track . This seventh book, together with the first ever book, Pongwiffy, a Witch of Dirty Habits, were both issued in May of this year with the remaining books coming out successively over the next few months.

Also, I was delighted to hear that I have been chosen to provide a new story to be included in one of the "World Book Day" children's books to be published next spring. The story will be a new Pongwifffy adventure and is to be bound together with a story written by Phillip Ardargh. World Book Day books cost just £1 each.

Pongwiffy now has her very own website. Why not check it out now

BOOKS TO BE PUBLISHED SOON
The Yetis Hunt Sir Quinton Quest - a brand new Sir Quinton adventure, to be published later this year by Catnip.

Clover Twig and the Incredible Flying Cottage - to be published in the USA later this year by Roaring Brook Press.

BOOKS TO BE PUBLISHED - BUT NOT QUITE SO SOON
I have just finished writing a Clover Twig follow-up, Clover Twig and the Perilous Path, which will be published by Bloomsbury

Alien Alby - is an illustrated story for younger children to be published by Macmillan, hopefully later this year or early 2010. Alby is a young alien with a weird pet and even weirder toys.

Three Little Celebrations - Comprises a set of three short musical plays for very young children, to be published by A&C Black later this year, or early in 2010. Each play represents a season of the year (Spring, Summer and Autumn) and the pack includes a CD complete with music and staging directions.

I have written a picture book text about some Dodo Doodoo which is to be published by Hodder and illustrated by Korky Paul, as soon as he finds the time in his busy work schedule.

A FEW OF THE OTHER THINGS I'VE BEEN UP TO
I've been really, really busy over the last two years. I've visited lots of lovely schools and libraries and Book Festivals and conferences, both home and abroad. I judged entries to a childrens' writing competion organised by a bed manufacturer called Silentnight and called "A Book at Bedtime". I've had some lovely holidays in France. And I read loads of great children's books, because I helped judge the "Roald Dahl Funny Prize", which is an exciting new children's book award set up by Michael Rosen, the current Children's Laureate. You can read all about it on www.roalddahlprize.org

FILM
A film option has been taken out on my first book about the famous explorer, Sir Quinton Quest Hunts the Yeti, by Laika, the animation company who produced the wonderful recent animated children's movie - Coraline. Mind you, I'm not holding my breath as the likely hood of it ever happening is remote and, even if it was chosen, it wouldn't be out for years.

OUR CATS
Sadly, last year our lovely cat Alfie went up to that great cat basket in the sky. We still have Heathcliff who has gone a bit bald recently, because he's got a skin allergy. But we now have an equally lovely new cat called Jeremy who is chocolate box black and white with a magnificent tail and is super affectionate.

CHANGES TO THE WEBSITE
We've updated the website to include new pussycat Jeremy, Kaye's Blog and details of the recent books, etc.
